Steve Hayward

Picture
This is Steve Hayward, also known as The Abominable Snow Blower. He's a leader in the community, being a member of the local Lions Club. Steve is the lead hand for ice prep and maintenance for the tournament. This shot captures Steve in his natural glory - after an hour or so clearing the snow from the millpond.

The Shovel Crew
hard at work!

We couldn't do it without our volunteer brigade who help pull the event together!

From the daytime food and beverage service...
You won't go hungry during the Classic. During the daytime, food will be available from either the cafe at the Alton Mill or one of several food trucks. There's a cash bar operated out of the Pond Gallery overlooking the millpond featuring beer, cider, wine, water and pop.

To the on-ice reffing...
Since the beginning, the tournament has been fortunate enough to have attracted Ray Scapinello, former NHL referee and Hockey Hall of Fame member to officiate the games. Ray will be returning again this year!

To the ice prep and maintenance...
Another critical partner is the Village of Alton Volunteer Fire Department which kindly floods the ice several times prior to the event to ensure we have the best possible conditions.

To the photography....
Over the years we have been blessed with volunteer photographers including Joanne Crease, Cathy Wilson and Jim Waddington.  Without their dedication, we'd just have a bunch of crappy photos from cell phones!. And, this website would be all text.

THANK YOU!!!!
